Grade Four students learn advanced bike safety skills and helmet safety including street signs and hand signals. Classroom instruction is followed by riding bikes in the Village to practise their skills through an obstacle course and situations which make them take evasive actions, navigate around pylons, attend various educational stations, etc.
Students are asked to please bring their bike helmets with them in order to ride our bikes at the Village. We do have a small supply of loaners for any students who don't have a helmet.
This program runs from late September until mid-November and then again from early April until the end of June. The classes are ninety minutes in length and normally run twice a day. Click on the day and session you would like to book on the calendar below to begin the registration process.
**PLEASE NOTE** There is a maximum of 30 children per classroom. If you wish to bring two classes at once you must choose a complementary program that happens simultaneously on the same day, for example, rail safety. Then the two classes can switch for the next session. This allows you to get more learning value for your students during your trip to the Safety Village.
Also, if you are booking several classes please use the actual teachers' names as the registrants for those classes in the comments section. This helps us keep our records straight! If you are unsure, please call us at 905-668-9893 and we'll be happy to walk you through it.
