Basic introduction to bike and helmet safety as well as rules of the road including traffic lights and street signs. In-class instruction is followed by riding scooters in the Village to practise their skills.
Please ensure that all grade three students bring their bike helmets if they have one, as the program includes helmet safety demonstrations and checking safety and fit of individual helmets. If students don't have a helmet of their own or they forget to bring theirs, we have loaners at the Village for them to use.
This program runs from late September until mid-November and then again from early April until the end of June. The classes are ninety minutes in length and normally run twice a day. Select a time below or click on the day and session you would like to book on the calendar to begin the registration process.
**PLEASE NOTE** There is a maximum of 30 children per classroom. If you wish to bring two classes at once you must choose a complementary program that happens simultaneously on the same day, for example, fire, EMS or rail safety. Then the two classes can switch for the next session. This allows you to get more learning value for your students during your trip to the Safety Village.
Also, if you are booking several classes please use the actual teachers' names as the registrants for those classes in the comments section. This helps us keep our records straight! If you are unsure, please call us at 905-668-9893 and we'll be happy to walk you through it.
