Grade Two students get an overview of pedestrian safety, as well as an introduction in the classroom to street safety, street signs, rules of the road, etc, followed by riding pedal cars and standard scooters with hand brakes in the Village to practise their skills. (Weather permitting). Students are required to wear helmets for this portion so please ask them to bring theirs with them. Any students who do not have helmets will be given loaners from the Village.
This program runs from the end of September until mid-November and then again from early April until the end of June. The classes are 90 minutes in length and normally run twice a day. Select a time below or click on the day and session you would like to book from the calendar to begin the registration process.
**PLEASE NOTE** There is a maximum of 30 children per classroom. If you wish to bring two classes at once you must choose a complementary program that happens simultaneously on the same day, for example, fire, EMS or rail safety. Then the two classes can switch for the next session. This allows you to get more learning value for your students during your trip to the Safety Village.
Also, if you are booking several classes please use the actual teachers' names as the registrants for those classes in the comments section. This helps us keep our records straight! If you are unsure, please call us at 905-668-9893 and we'll be happy to walk you through it.
